NBC’s new video featurette for “This Is Us” Season 2 was unveiled Monday at the peacock network’s Upfront presentation. It’s an emotional, tear-inducing four-minute tribute video to the show’s fans, so please don’t watch if you’re in public — no one wants to see you ugly-cry. Watch the Season 2 featurette above.

In the video, series stars Mandy Moore, Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K. Brown and Chrissy Metz — all serious 2017 Emmy contenders — surprise fans who are in the midst of being interviewed about what the show means to them. The featurette showcases perfectly why “This Is Us” has proven to be so successful for NBC: it’s a hopeful show about family that enjoys broad support from people of all ages, colors, sizes and backgrounds.

Gold Derby’s TV experts derived from major media outlets predict that “This Is Us” will be a major Emmy player for NBC. The show is in second place to win Best Drama Series (behind only “The Crown”), Moore is a contender for Best Drama Actress, Brown is the current frontrunner to claim Best Drama Actor after his victory last year for “The People v. O.J. Simpson,” and Metz is the pick to take home Best Drama Supporting Actress following her Golden Globe nomination. Other potential above-the-line Emmy acting nominees include Ventimiglia, Ron Cephas Jones and Justin Hartley.

As one of the highest-rated shows on broadcast TV, “This Is Us” will be on the move in Season 2 to NBC Thursday nights at 9 p.m. “While it’s a little risky, there’s a bigger case to be made for redoing Thursday night,” NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt told TV reporters about the time slot switcheroo. The peacock’s new Thursday will begin with the revival of Emmy-winning “Will & Grace” (watch the trailer) at 8 p.m.
